Recipe News: Home-grown grillin’

"This weekend marks the last “official” gasp of summer — the perfect time for grilling.
(Yeah, we know you can grill nearly year-round in South Carolina, but “Labor Day” and “cookout” go together.)
Here’s a way to keep it a locals-only affair: Use items made or grown in South Carolina.

Julie Riffle of Palmetto Pepper Potions prepared Spicy Honey Glazed Shrimp skewers made with Bell's Honey, Palmetto Pepper Potions hot sauce and shrimp from Wild Carolina.

We offer these recipes from vendors at the All Local Farmers Market, open every Saturday morning (8 a.m.-noon) at a building next to 701 Whaley in the Olympia neighborhood."

Includes recipes for:

  • Spicy honey glazed shrimp skewers

  • Caw Caw Creek spare ribs

  • Carmelized Carolina grilled chicken

  • Grilled clams with lemon garlic butter

  • Grilled parmesan focaccia bread
