Wine News: Tastings: Warm up with mulled wine recipe

"n northern Europe, mulled wine is the secret weapon against the damp and the cold. The folks at Mid Valley Wines and Liquor say this warming treat is finding new fans in the States.
"We like a version made with a hearty but inexpensive Spanish red, sweetened with simple syrup (half-sugar, half-water, heated until the sugar dissolves), and spiced with cloves and cinnamon sticks," says Tim Free, the shop's wine consultant."
