Recipe News: Italian sausage, olive recipe equals easy skillet meal
"There was a time when condensed mushroom soup and canned fried onion rings were the first and last word in convenience food.
No more. Supermarkets have obliged us with great-tasting ethnic ingredients and easy-to-use basic ingredients so that we can cook delicious, home-cooked meals basically from scratch in little time.
At nearly any butcher counter, you can find bulk Italian sausage in hot or mild renditions. Now even pitted Kalamata olives can be found at least in jars, and often in supermarket olive bars. Frozen chopped onions and minced (or simply peeled) garlic in jars make those staples easier to use.
All these ingredients come together in one skillet to provide a dinner delicious enough for company."
