WIne News: Now is the best time to buy wine

"Wine drinkers have never had more options for good quality, well-priced wines, according to speakers at last week's Unified Wine & Grape Symposium at the Sacramento Convention Center.

However, grape growers and wineries -- already dealing with a record 2005 crop -- will need to cut costs and boost marketing efforts to survive.

More than 10,000 wine and grape industry professionals attended the trade show, the largest of its kind in North America.

One of the highlights is a "state of the industry" session where leading industry-watchers provide their views on the wine industry, and they said 2005 was a record-breaking year for wine production and consumption."
