Wine News: On the wine list: plastic screw-tops

The mystique associated with wine seems to be quickly disappearing. First it was the change to screw tops. Now it looks like a new trend is pint-sized plastic bottles of wine to go. Will this work? I can see it being desirable on certain occasions, but don't you really still need the glasses?

"The next big thing for the wine industry could be small, screw-capped, and shatterproof.

Single-serve plastic bottles are starting to show up on shelves in a bid to win new customers by moving wine beyond posh white-tablecloth dinners to the informal ease of a picnic."
