Recipe News: Recipes for chili-lime butter and fresh herb butter

"CONCORD, N.H. - This is the time of year I overdo it on ears of corn.

Blame my parents. When I was a child, the arrival of locally grown corn at the market was a big deal. That and the anticipation for tomatoes (another annoyingly late crop) essentially defined our summers. Every year my father would pronounce the latest crop the best ever. Nothing like the year before, which he then would declare "horse corn" fit only for feeding to animals.

So we would buy corn. Lots of corn. And we would eat it nearly every night every week until the short season wrapped and the grocers were left with only bland-tasting ears trucked from afar."
